SCONES


PREP TIME 20 minutes
COOK TIME 15 minutes
SERVES 4

INGREDIENTS

 2 cups of self-raising flour 

2 teaspoons of baking powder 

50g of cold butter

125g of milk 

1 egg 

Salt to taste 


Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius 

 

METHOD

Step 1 

Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a stand mixer bowl and mix on 1 to combine. Rub the butter into the flour with your fingertips until it resembles breadcrumbs. Then add the egg and milk and mix on a low number until the scone dough forms. 

Step 2 

Turn the dough out onto a floured bench top, pat the dough out to a 2.5cm thickness. Using a round cutter, cut the dough into portions. 

Step 3

Place the scones on a backing tray and bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown
