APPLE TARTE TATIN

Cook time: 15 minutes

Serves: 4

 

Ingredients

2 Granny smith apples cut into 8 pieces each remove cores

80g butter diced

1/4 c caster sugar

2 tbs honey

1 sheet of shortcrust pastry

pinch of salt

 

Method

Pre-heat oven 180 degrees celsius

Get a frying pan that has a handle that's suitable to cook on a stove and go in an oven

place the pan face down on the sheet of pastry. Trace around the pan with a knife to cut a circular piece of pastry exactly the size of the top of the pan

assemble apple pieces in a frying pan and turn on to medium heat

add butter and honey

sprinkle with sugar and add salt

Cook for approximately 5 mintues for the butter and sugar to melt together and the apple to soften

Place pastry on top of apples and put whole pan in the oven for 20 mins

Use plate that's bigger than the pan. Place plate over the pan and then flip to turn out tarte

serve with cream or ice cream
